Well, the Pleasuredome saga seems to be over. I've not just been banned from downloading, it seems I've been banned from so much as visiting the site. Any attempt to visit the home page results in a time out, but Down for everyone or just me? (quite a useful resource) indicates that the site is up. I've since found Underground Gamer and bitGAMER (which I was able to access thanks to an acquaintance with spare invites, which I have none of, don't bother asking) and rediscovered Demonoid, giving me all the downloads I need.
It actually makes me laugh that the Pleasuredome staff really seemed scared of legal threats from hosting PS1 and N64 games. bitGAMER currently have Wii and PS2 games up for download! The only reason they don't have PS3 is because no one's cracked Sony's protection system yet. If Nintendo and Sony are willing to ignore blatant warez on this level, what are Pleasuredome so scared of? I'll never know, but I'd advise avoiding the place. The staff are impossible to reason with and have proven they're willing to use permabans in response to the most trivial and petty of debates.
So, the monthly update is here. First things first, new article. This one chronicles my experiences at Pleasuredome. I really do want outside opinions on this, so feel free to contact me in any way (my e-mail address in on the site, and the IRC channel is still open) and tell me what you think about what happened. My views should be clear.
I've also performed the July archiving, slightly more active than usual there. It's a pity I won't be able to keep up my activity, because we're moving house on 11th September, and I'll be unable to access the internet for at least a short period. I won't be in the IRC channel and I won't be responding to any e-mails from that date until I update the site again (which I will do as soon as I'm back online). I hope the disruption is minimal, but anything can happen.
