30th June 2009

There's been a notable lack of updates recently, and this is directly related to the news post I made on the 9th June. I've been doing stuff related to it for large parts of the month, and it's left me far too distracted to think of anything to put on pointlessness. This is going to continue for some time yet, and I've no idea how long it will be until I'm in the right frame of mind to start writing again. Hence, pointlessness is back on hiatus again until I feel I can start writing again.

Now that I'm feeling better, time for the actual monthly cleanup. I've also updated Chain of Events with my impressions of pitched but unpublished strips that have surfaced since the demise of The DFC. As for new articles, there are projects taking shape here, but nothing to post right now.

Yesterday was an interesting day in other ways too though, as I made my first major video game purchases for a while, mostly attempting to give my Wii some actual games to work with, so it'll stop just sitting there and gathering dust all of the time. Here's what I got:

I'm sure criticism could be levelled at my choice of platform for some of these games, or the game itself with NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, and I already got told that buying Metroid Prime 3 now was a bad choice given that Metroid Prime Trilogy will be here in just three months, but I'm happy overall.

Also, I don't think I'm done with my PlayStation 2 just yet, as I really want to get Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 and give the old thing a proper send-off with a quality RPG to remember, but that'll wait until another day. I have more than enough to do some proper gaming right now.

No monthly cleanup today due to me being far too tired and emotional, maybe tomorrow or the day after. Probably with some fairly substantial article updates too.

So, why am I posting if not for the monthly cleanup? Because something very big happened in my life today, and I want it noted here. Both to mark when it happened, and to push myself to not stop on the process that has just started until it is complete. I don't want to go into details right now, but I will someday. Hopefully before this year is done.
